Mitchell Starc Introduction
In the world of cricket, a left-armer named Mitchell Stac has been a key figure in Australia’s attack for over a decade. While not as express as his predecessor Johnson, Starc’s pace and bounce, coupled with his control of swing, make him a potent force for opposition batsmen. His remarkable performance during the 2015 World Cup showcased his brilliance as he rattled stumps and confounded batsmen with his inswinging deliveries. His Player of the Tournament title was well-deserved, and he continued his exceptional form by claiming 27 wickets in the 2019 World Cup.
Transitioning to Test cricket, Starc’s numbers are also outstanding. Overcoming early inconsistency, he eventually solidified his spot and proved his mettle. Notably, he produced his career-best match haul of 11 for 94 in Galle. With his 200th Test wicket, he joined an elite group of Australian bowlers in February 2019. Starc’s prowess was further evident when he clinched the Allan Border Medal as Australia’s male player of the year during England’s 2021-22 tour.
Beyond his bowling, Starc’s batting adds another dimension to his game. He came close to a Test century in Mohali in 2013. Notably, he is married to Australia’s wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy.
